I started Spa Director’s Diaries to share my stories, lessons, and a few battle scars from decades in the spa world. When I first stepped into this industry over 30 years ago, there were no official spa schools, no fancy degrees, and definitely no “Spa Management 101.” We learned the hard way—by trying, failing, fixing, and trying again.
Today, there are amazing spa education programs out there, but what I want to add are the things you don’t always find in textbooks: real stories, practical tips, and lessons learned from running spas and experiencing over 1,000 treatments across the globe. Think of it as a mix of inspiration, mentorship, and a peek behind the curtain of what really makes a spa thrive.
